Pokemon encounters will be pretty simple affairs in this forum. As such they have their own guidelines to be followed, and over time these guidelines will be subject to change as the site evolves over time.
Determining Pokémon
Each wilderness area has it's own set of available pokémon. Each of these pokémon will be allocated it's own number from 1 to however many pokémon happen to be in that zone at the time. The person dealing with your encounter will use Random.org to determine which of these pokémon will appear.
Capture rate
Catch rate will be determined by the admin running your particular encounter. If you catch the pokemon or not will be determined by how well you role played the encounter, how well you planned your fight, and of course what pokéball you used to capture the pokémon with.
What about legendary pokémon?
I'd like for Legendary pokémon to appear on occasion, so with each encounter a second roll will be made to determine the probability of a legendary appearing. A number between 1-1000 will be rolled, and if anything over 950 is rolled then a Legendary Pokemon will appear instead. You will not be able to capture the legendary, but look on the bright side ... you have seen something that many trainers search their whole lifetime for.
